Egerton Admission Day: What First Years Should Know
Admission Day at Egerton University is a crucial day for all new students. This year, it will be held on 19th August at the Njoro Main Campus. Admissions are conducted within each respective faculty, so it's important to know where your department is located in advance.
Documents Required
- Admission Letter
- KCSE Result Slip
- National ID or Birth Certificate
- Passport-Sized Photos
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Failing to carry at least 4 photocopies of each document
- Arriving late and facing long queues
- Not locating your faculty early enough
- Paying inflated fees for printing due to lack of preparation
- Missing documents causing delays and panic
How You'll Be Guided
Both university staff and student volunteers will be present to help guide new students to the correct venues and assist with the admission process.
Portal Access & Document Upload
Admission is only complete once your uploaded documents are verified and approved. Many students unknowingly pay up to KES 500 for help uploading documents — which is entirely unnecessary if you prepare early. Ensure your documents are in the required file formats and uploaded before arrival.
Hostel Allocation
After completing the admission process, you’ll be guided to your assigned hostel — provided you've already paid for accommodation through the correct channels.
Orientation: What Not to Miss
- Orientation Week sessions
- Full campus tour
- Class Representative elections
Personal Essentials to Carry
